Adaptive learning has a different meaning and/or understanding in the context of teaching and/or learning.

intellADAPT is a company that has pioneered Adaptive 2.0 learning technology for the next generation of learners, educators and digital course creators. The founder of intellADAPT, Dr. Nishikant Sonwalkar, has revolutionized online-learning (self-paced and blended) with Adaptive 2.0’s strong emphasis on pedagogy, strategy, real-time feedback and learner analytics. Based on years of research at MIT, Dr. Sonwalkar developed the framework, the learning cube, which is the basis of Adaptive 2.0 learning technology.

The Learning Cube

Adaptive 2.0 learning technology personalizes the learning experience at an individual level. It increases motivation to learn, drives competency, and builds the confidence to succeed. Adaptive 2.0 is truly adaptive as it allows individuals to learn using the strategy most natural to them, thus increasing completion rates in schools, colleges, and organizations all while decreasing drop out rates.

The Adaptive 2.0 learning technology framework consists of the following:

  • Pedagogy
  • Learning Strategy
  • Real time feedback
  • Learners’ Analytics

Pedagogy:

Dr. Nishikant Sonwalkar defines pedagogy as:

“Pedagogy is the process of presenting content in the context of learning strategies that connect with a cognitive process.”

Learning Strategy:

You may have been told what type of learner you are and wonder, am I really that? In the traditional classroom setting it is difficult for an educator to identify and accommodate the unique learning strategy of each individual student. Adaptive 2.0 allows an instructor to provide breakthrough, individualized education.

Based on many years of research at MIT, Dr. Nishikant Sonwalkar developed distinct learning strategies that allow learners to best meet their potential. “The brain-based adaptive learning depends on creation of cognitive learning strategies to present content.”

Learning strategies make up the overall learning process and have 5 distinct pathways:

  1. apprentice (step-by-step learning)
  2. incidental ( case studies or scenarios based learning)
  3. inductive ( example based learning)
  4. deductive ( application based learning)
  5. discovery ( experimental based learning)

Real Time Intelligent Feedback

Learning online can be tedious and isolating. Real time intelligent feedback takes away the tedium providing an escape from the monotony of one-size-fits-all learning.

Learner Analytics

Do you wonder how you are doing? What is your learning strategy and how this correlates to your progress and performance? Has your learning outcome been achieved? With Adaptive 2.0, students have access to analytics, readily displayed in easy to understand charts, graphs, and heat maps.

Adaptive 2.0 learning technology is a breakthrough in how we learn. It is applicable in all educational settings and is a disruptive innovation that will change the way the world learns, one individual at a time.
