About NEOWIZ: History, Portfolio and the Mission Statement

And as we are getting closer to the launch, we felt that it’s essential to take a moment to introduce you to NEOWIZ, the remarkable South Korean gaming giant behind Intella X who is on this journey with you.

Overview
Established in 1997, NEOWIZ is considered a pioneer and one of the leading game companies in Korea. NEOWIZ has successfully published and developed a wide variety of leading titles from PC to mobile and console games, and also operates its own gaming platform ‘PMANG’ since 2003. Moreover, NEOWIZ with subsidiaries in the US and Japan, is well-positioned to promote games on a global scale.

Since 2003, NEOWIZ has co-developed, published, and launched over 35 diverse line-up of indie~AAA games that has had wild success in the global gaming market such as:
Lies of P
A thrilling soulslike action RPG that takes the story of Pinocchio, turns it on its head, and sets it against the darkly elegant backdrop of the Belle Epoque era. Since its release on September 19, 2023, LoP has took the gaming industry by storm, sweeping 18 prestigious awards, including ‘Game of the Year’ at the App Store Awards 2023, ‘Best RPG’ at The Game Awards 2023, and the ‘Grand Award’ at the Korea Game Awards 2023. LoP’s significance is further amplified by its role in proving the untapped potential of Korean console gaming.
FIFA Online 2
NEOWIZ serviced FIFA Online 1 and 2, of the FIFA series, the most famous football game series in gaming history. Notably, FIFA Online 1 and 2 were co-developed through a collaboration between NEOWIZ and EA, with FIFA Online 2 achieving a record Peak Concurrent User of 220,000, making it one of Korea’s most beloved sports games.
Cats & Soup
Cats and Soup is a beloved idle RPG game where players endeavor to create soup with adorable cats, and be cute. Following its global launch, the game evolved into a major IP, currently boasting 50 million downloads. Additionally, the PFP NFT project based on this IP, ‘E.R.C.C,’ achieved a sell-out success at the Intella X launchpad in January and subsequently secured the top trending spot on OpenSea, showcasing the remarkable influence of the Cats and Soup IP.
DJMAX Respect
Since its release in 2017, DJMAX Respect has achieved over 4 million cumulative downloads, was awarded the Excellence Award in the PC, video, arcade, and board game categories at the Korea Game Awards 2017, and was named the best launch on Steam in 2019. DJMAX Respect, a rhythm genre game, stands out with its unique genre music, intense beats, and dazzling graphics, maintaining a dedicated fan base. It has established a dominant presence in its genre, receiving love from players worldwide on Steam and consoles. DJMAX continues to strengthen its position, consistently securing the Top Seller spot with each DLC release.
Brave Nine
Brave Nine is a globally acclaimed strategic turn-based RPG mobile game, renowned for its impressive collection of over 300 unique mercenaries presented in stunning artwork. In Brave Nine, players take on the role of a Captain leading a newly assembled mercenary army. They must strategically arrange their team of nine mercenaries on a 6x3 grid, engaging in intense, turn-based battles against rival teams. Celebrating its 7th anniversary soon in April, Brave Nine has firmly established itself in the market as an all-time favorite mobile RPG, boasting a global total of 6.8 million downloads.
Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A)
A.V.A is a renowned global FPS shooter game that has been servicing for over 16 years, famous for its diverse modes including PvE and PvP. A.V.A offers an immersive gaming experience with its unique gameplay, exceptional graphic quality, outstanding sound effects, and realistic visual effects that vividly capture the battlefield atmosphere. Furthermore, A.V.A has proven its enduring popularity by ranking 8th in the Top Free-to-Play section of the Steam charts in August 2022.
Pmang (Gaming Platform)
Pmang is an online gaming platform serviced by Neowiz for over 20 years. This platform offers a wide range of high-quality games across various genres, from social casinos to FPS, casual, and RPG games, including the service history of FIFA Online 2. Notably, Pmang has a history of ranking first in both Korea’s National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) and the National Brand Competitiveness Index (NBCI) in the game portal category.

NEO, which means new, and WIZ as in Wizard, met and became ‘NEOWIZ’.
NEOWIZ will grow into a world-class company that creates magic that makes the world fun, by continuously providing content that is not only original and creative, but also enjoyable.
Aligned with this mission statement, some of the new magic NEOWIZ has created include:
- Created the community ‘Sayclub’ and monetized avatars for the first time in the world.
- Popularized FPS, which was a non-mainstream in Korea
- Proved the untapped potential of the Korean console gaming market.
The Next Magic: Intella X
NEOWIZ is now leveraging their technical expertise, over 27 years of experience, market insights, and platform operation experience to create another spellbinding success in the new Web3 market through Intella X. This magic will begin with the onboarding of NEOWIZ’s global titles onto ‘Intella X’s Adventure’.
