In our previous article, Intella X discussed the challenges of the current Web3 gaming market and the potential strategies for mass adoption. And now, following on from these solutions we suggested, we are proud to introduce a series that delineates our forward-thinking steps into the future of Web3. Kicking off this series is our introduction to the Space Candy Store — an innovative service designed to ease game developer’s transition into the Web3 gaming space.

Challenges of Integrating PNE Features In Game

To understand the motivation behind the development of the ‘Space Candy Store’, it’s essential to firstly recognize the challenges developers face when transitioning to Web3, particularly when integrating Play-and-Earn (PNE) features into their games. The implementation often requires complex balancing between enriching gaming contents and experiences, and embedding financial earning opportunities through Web3 technology.

Structural dilemma of integrating PNE features in game

The key challenge in integrating PNE features into the game lies in the trade-offs that can detract from the gaming experience, the earning potential, or, in some cases, both.

Case #1: Web3 Games Prioritizing ‘Earn’ over ‘Gameplay’.

Web3 games that prioritizes the ‘Earn’ component over ‘Gameplay’ can lack in core game mechanics and content, failing to retain users and ultimately undermining the essence of gaming.

Case #2: Web3 Games focused on ‘Core Gameplay’ without sufficient ‘Earn’ incentives.

On the other hand, when a game is too heavily focused on ‘Core Gameplay’, to preserve the depth and content of the game, it may offer insufficient ‘earn’ features, potentially failing to attract players motivated by Web3’s earning potential.

Case #3: Attempt to balance ‘Earn’ and ‘Gameplay’ by lacking in both content.

Furthermore, striving for equilibrium, games may compromise on both ‘Gameplay’ and ‘Earn’. Attempting to prioritize both fronts equally, can leave games falling short of expectations, failing to satisfy both users who wish to focus on ‘Gameplay’ and those focusing on ‘Earn’.

As such, regardless of how developers incorporate PNE structures into their games, the significant side effects of each method have led to an unsolvable dilemma in the Web3 gaming world, leaving users and developers reluctant to embrace Play and Earn games.

Unified Solution — Intella X’s Space Candy Store

Intella X proudly introduces the Space Candy Store (SCS), a service elegantly resolves the Play-and-Earn integration challenge for Web3 games by providing a unifying solution that provides a balanced approach, respecting both the integrity and essence of gaming and the promise of providing Web3 values. SCS innovatively separates ‘Gameplay’ and ‘Earn’, allowing developers to focus purely on developing games without the need to create complex tokenomics, while enabling users to enjoy Web3 games that are fun and rewarding at the same time.

How does the Space Candy Store work?

The process of ‘Earn’ at the Space Candy store is very intuitive. Users play games that are utilizing the Space Candy Store and as they complete certain in-game achievements, they earn ‘Candies’ at the SCS. Then, these ‘Candies’ can be used to play various mini games offered at SCS to receive NFTs with different rarity. And finally, when these NFTs are redeemed or ‘burnt’, users can acquire varying amounts of IX* token depending on the rarity of the NFT.

*Prior to CEX listing of the Intella X (IX) token, USDC will be provided as the reward.

The Source of the Space Candy Store Reward — IX Token

The ingenuity of Space Candy Store extends to its reward system. In contrast to the traditional PNE structure, rather than relying on the minting of new tokens, which can lead to inflation and market saturation, the rewards for Space Candy Store are sourced from existing tokens in circulation. A proportion of the platform fee (portion of the games revenue) received from developers is converted into USDC and used to purchase IX tokens at a CEX to provide as the reward for the SCS platform. This way, as the source of the reward is tokens already circulating in the market, we are able to provide our users with a reward that is protected from market volatility, and foster increased game engagement by pegging the reward to the game’s revenue, facilitating an even more vibrant gaming ecosystem.

Separation of ‘Gameplay’ and ‘Earn’

Delineating Gameplay and Earn Feature

The Space Candy Store offers a straightforward way for developers to blend traditional gameplay with the rewarding elements of Web3. Its structure allows developers to create engaging game contents and gaming experience while providing the ‘Earn’ element without the burden of constructing a complex Web3 economy.

The system’s key benefit is in its separation — the earning mechanism operates externally by Intella X, offering players the chance to gain rewards without diverting from the game’s primary world and objectives. This selective earning model is designed to complement, not compete with, the immersive gameplay, preserving its essence.

This design respects the integrity of the overall gaming experience and offers a non-intrusive entry point to Web3’s ‘Earn’ features providing a gateway to the ‘Earn’ aspects of Web3 that operates independently from the game itself. Consequently, developers can be streamlined in their transition to Web3 by eliminating the need for complex tokenomics or Web3 structures.

Selective yet Intuitive Player Rewards

For players, the Space Candy Store functions as a selective engagement layer, enriching their experience beyond the confines of their primary gaming adventures. By achieving specific achievements within the supported games, players earn ‘Candies’ — an entry ticket to the various mini-games at SCS, each offering a chance to win unique NFTs. When players choose to redeem (or ‘Burn’) these NFTs, they are rewarded with various amounts of Intella X’s (IX) primary platform token depending on the rarity of the NFT.

This rewarding system is designed to further complement the gaming experience outside the confines of the games, without the risk of disrupting the game’s internal economy or diluting its core gameplay within a separate yet connected ecosystem, ensuring that they receive the best of both worlds.

Benefits of the Space Candy Store

For Developers:

  • Removes the need for developers to create complex tokenomics or Web3 economy, allowing developers to focus more on developing engaging game content and improving the quality of the game.
  • Allows developers to provide “Earn” elements without side-effects.

For Users:

  • Allows users to enjoy the core fun and engagement of gaming by not diluting the gameplay with forced ‘Earn’ elements.
  • Provide additional, selective content for users to ‘earn’ based on their participation and achievements within the game
  • And simple, yet intuitive introduction to Web3 gaming without the need of complex blockchain knowledge

Conclusion

Intella X has been dedicated to finding an innovative solution to effectively onboard developers while simultaneously enriching the gaming experience for users. And as a result of these efforts, we’ve created the Space Candy Store platform feature. By distinctly separating ‘Gameplay’ and ‘Earn’, we diminish the common complexities associated with Web3, allowing developers to focus solely on their expertise and passion — game development and have enabled users to seamlessly engage with the intrinsic values of Web3. This separation ensures that the immersive nature of gaming and the rewarding potential of Web3 can coexist without any sacrifice.

Our strategic approach is a testament to our vision for the future of Web3 — a landscape where games are not only accessible and engaging but also fully embrace the advantages of blockchain technology. Intella X is dedicated to leading the charge towards broader Web3 adoption, with the Space Candy Store marking just the first step in our journey. And we are excited to unveil future developments that will continue to drive our mission of Web3 mass adoption.
