Your Followers are not Always your Audience😀 ⠀

Your followers are made up of a mix of three types of People⠀

⠀👥 YOUR NETWORK⠀

These are the people with whom you’ve built a relationship over the long term.⠀

They are your blogging friends, your social media buddies and people with whom you share a similar vibe. In some cases, they could also be your family.⠀

They don’t necessarily share your niche, but they enjoy and applaud the work that you do. ⠀

They are your cheerleaders. They are the ones you will reach out to when you need help with amplifying a topic, sharing about a book launch, give a shout out on social media and more.They are NOT your audience. They are your community.⠀

🎁 FREEBIE FANS⠀

Everyone likes free stuff. Let’s admit it. Even I do.⠀

Freebies, free content (on your blog and your social media channels) are how people find you and the work that you do.⠀

But exclusive freebie seekers , by themselves, will not convert to a fully engaged audience.

For that, you have to provide consistent value and keep them engaged. They are the hardest followers to keep, but if you manage to convert them, they will become a part of the type 3 set of followers.⠀

👭👫 TRUE AUDIENCE⠀

These are the people who started following you specifically for the value you offer. They found you through your blog, your social media channels, your videos, your books and your other content and they enjoy what you talk about.⠀

They will become loyal readers, engaged clients, repeat buyers of your products and services and most important of all: Become loyal word-of-mouth amplifiers of your content.⠀

This is the reason you should not worry about people who stop following you on social media. It’s why you don’t gauge your growth or progress on likes or the number of followers.⠀

Because the people who truly matter will find you, your content and your value & stick around anyway.⠀
