Have You Been Conspiring Against Yourself?

It is very much easy to complain about how other people treat us bad but it is not necessarily important whether people are sabotaging your effort, as much as it is when you are your own saboteur.

Many of our personal actions may be what render our effort to having a better and more meaningful life. When we fail to do our own path in the pursuit of a life worth living, it is then an act of personal conspiracy. This does not sound like what is actually true because we hardly think about how our actions affect our experiences.

[Tweet “No matter how much people love and care about you, they cannot be responsible for your success.”] One thing very important to note is that there is no one more responsible for your success than you. It is you who will determine and chart a course for the kind of life you dream of.

It is quite understandable when people work against you to pull you down. But it is really troubling to think that through your attitude, you become the undoing of your own life. However, this is the everyday fact with so many people.

I want to share with you a few pointers that will help you answer that question effective. If we take this year for example;

Did you make new friends that are worthwhile and able to add value to your life?

Did you take any new class or training to develop any new skill?

Did you invest in any business in order to have a better financial life?

Did you work on growing in your knowledge base to increase your market value?

Did you strive to improve in your delivery of services to your clients?

Did you take into consideration the advice and guidance of a mentor (if you have one)?

Did you rely just on yourself or did you leverage on the ability of others?

Did you have to wait for others to love you before you know you are lovable?

If you did not answer ‘YES’ to any or all of these, then it is clear you have been living a life of personal conspiracy. Whether intentionally or not, the truth is that you have been short-changing yourself and short-circuiting your opportunity for success.

The danger with conspiring against yourself is that it may be going on for long without your knowing or identifying it.

You cannot afford to let all these continue in the coming year. You must consciously consider every one of them and identify where you need to make some changes in your personal and corporate life.

My challenge for you today is to take some time and ponder on the points above and conduct a critical assessment of your response or disposition toward each. And if by any means you need to change or do something differently, do not hesitate to do so. You will do yourself much good than any man can and achieve success and a life worth living faster.
