I was thinking a little bit the other day about why I was blogging about my 52 week challenge. I gave a few reasons when I first started, but that’s been a while ago now and I’ve got to wonder why I keep doing it. Honestly, it would be awesome if the blog took off and got millions of hits and I could somehow turn that platform into a source of income. I would love to write for a huge audience and have tons of media attention. I realize that this isn’t likely to happen, especially with such a personal blog as this one is, so why blog?

The purpose of doing this challenge is for me, for my wife, and someday for my children. If nothing else comes of forcing myself to develop good habits than that I live a longer and more satisfying life then that is enough for me. But, I have to wonder, what if even one person reads this and it makes a difference in their life? What if only one person reads this blog and learns how to set better goals, or loses weight, or steps out into the unknown to accomplish their dreams?

That would be amazing! I’m doing this challenge for me and my family, and blogging is helping me be consistent, but I think the real reason I keep blogging is the hope that, just maybe, someone reads what I write, and in reading decides to change their lives forever. Who knows? Let me know if that’s been you!
