Wrap Up

For the June month’s IDF event, we had Lollypop design studio tour along with a session with the founder, Mr. Anil Reddy.

As always, the session was informative and boy o boy, we were amazed by the thoughts and details that went into building the most talked about design studio of Bangalore.

Also, the information shared by Mr. Anil Reddy about his career and the entrepreneurial journey was inspiring and he took us to the nitty-gritty of what it takes to become a designer turned entrepreneur.

One key thing that’s the highlight of the event was the casual chit-chat session with Mr. Anil. It was an eye-opener for some people like me.

It felt like he was showering us with the experiences he has amassed over the years and that gave us so many things to ponder upon.

In case, if you have missed out on this event. Here are some of the key insights that I was able to jot down during the entire session.

  1. Design is a beautiful solution: One year back when I attended my first ever event in Bangalore, it was an event organized by Indiefolio with Mr. Anil Reddy and that’s where I had encountered with this definition of design and it still resonates with what it actually is. This event made me recall that as well.
  2. Design amalgamates psychology, business, strategy, marketing, and creativity.
  3. Document all of the creative processes that you went through while designing any solution.
  4. Get into the depth of the problem you intend to solve.
  5. Be on all the social media platforms and express.
  6. Be unique, if you are a job seeker in the design field, don’t just copy paste the same old resume format and portfolio stylings. Give it a creative touch so that you catch the attention.
  7. Learn to code. Though it’s not mandatory to learn but it definitely gives you an edge in the industry and also adds a tool in your armory.
  8. And at last, enjoy the process.

Without a doubt, the contribution that Lollypop design studio has done to shape the design community of Bangalore has been immense and with this session, we hope for more such events coming from them.

Also, super thanks to IDF and ArunKumar for conducting such events on a regular basis without fail.
