For Sergey Brin, the cryptocurrency is the protagonist for the recent computing boom

Billionaire and Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, has revealed its investments in the cryptocurrency Ethereum, one of Intergalaxy’s partners and customers. The entrepreneur attended the Blockchain Summit event in Morocco on 8 July. It was on this occasion that Brin said that he invests together with his 10-year-old son, and that he considers the concept of “zero-knowledge something really incomprehensible”.

The investor believes that Ethereum has been the protagonist of the recent boom in computing, making a technological revival viable. According to him, “There are a number of factors at play in this computing boom. “First, of course, is the steady advancement of Moore’s Law, and the second factor is increased demand for GPU-compliant (PoW) found in some of the major cryptocurrencies, such as the Ethereum”.

Brin is also interested in cryptocurrencies that use zero-knowledge, such as Ethereum and ZCash, which allows transactions to be registered in Blockchain’s public network, but preserving information such as the address of exchanges.

Even with the enthusiasm of Sergey Brin, who is currently president of Alphabet Inc., Google has announced the ban on cryptocurrency advertising on its platforms in March this year, but so far has not put these restrictions into practice.

Even with this attitude of Google, the Internet and technology giants continue to work and prepare for the cryptocurrencies revolution. Facebook, for example, has set up its own Blockchain department, just as Amazon, IBM and Microsoft have developed and patented blockchain-based data storage and security solutions, such as Microsoft Azure.
