The ‘Movies and TV has not yet a release date, but would mainly benefit residents of the US

Since Microsoft stopped investing in new features for Windows 10 Mobile, several system applications have begun to receive versions for Android and iOS. Currently, users of these systems can install programs such as the Microsoft Launcher and the Microsoft Edge browser.

The next breakthrough in this area may be the Movies and TV application, according to anonymous sources. On Windows 10 and Xbox where it’s available, this service works much like iTunes or Google Play Movies, allowing you to purchase or rent movies and series.

We can not consider “Movies and TV” as a direct competitor to Netflix, for example, because the app does not work as a subscription business. His proposal is more focused on offering recent releases, which came out of the movies a few months ago. Movies like “A Time Twist” and “A Silent Place” can be rented there for $15.

Microsoft would also be working to integrate the service with the Movies Anywhere platform. It allows you to join the libraries of several different services in one place, with the user being able, for example, to buy a movie in iTunes and watch it in Google Play Movies.

This latest news should not benefit anyone who uses the Microsoft application in all countries, since Movies Anywhere is only available in the United States. The company is still developing the Movies and TV for Android and iOS, with no launch forecast.
