Kintsugi — Moonriver XCM Channel Going Live
The long-awaited XCM channel between Kintsugi, the canary network of Interlay on Kusama, and Moonriver is now open! Users can move their KINT freely on Moonriver in seconds.
Our next step is a full DeFi integration that will allow xcKINT to be used like any other Moonriver-based token across the dApps living in the ecosystem.
How to move your KINT to Moonriver
KINT tokens can be bridged to Moonriver through the DApp.
Once there, the MetaMask will pop up and ask you to sign in. Next, select the account to connect to the dApp and accept permissions.
Upon accepting permissions and changing the network to Moonbeam, you will be redirected to the main dashboard with details about your accounts balance, cross-chain assets, and other data.
To move your KINT via the channel, you need to deposit KINT to your MetaMask and follow the prompts to move the asset to Moonriver.
- In the row for xcKINT, click on add to metamask.
- MetaMask will pop-up and prompt you to add the token. Click on Add Token.
- To verify that the token was added successfully, you can open up MetaMask and switch to the Assets tab. From there, you should see xcKINT in the list of assets.
And there it is, you got your xcKINT! You can use your assets on the many dApps on the network.
How to go back from Moonriver to Kintsugi
To transfer your KINT back to KIntsugi, you can use the withdraw feature on the Moonbeam dApp.
To withdraw xcKINT tokens from Moonriver back to Kintsugi, make sure that your MetaMask account that holds the xcKINT is connected. Transaction fees will be paid on the Kintsugi chain in KINT and deducted from the total amount transferred.
In the row for xcKINT, click on withdraw. Next, you can start to fill out the withdrawal information to transfer and convert the xcKINT to Kintsugi:
- Select Kintsugi as the Destination Chain.
- In the Amount field, enter the amount of xcKINT you would like to transfer.
- Verify that the account listed is your Moonriver account where you are transferring the xcKINT tokens from.
- Enter the destination address where you would like to send the KINT to on Kintsugi.
- Review the transaction details and if everything looks correct, click Send.
And now you are ready for your journey to Moonriver!
