Day 4 : Tuesday, December 4

At 8:30am we met at the hotel’s lobby, we had breakfast at the CSIS headquarters and prepared for the day to come. Our professional day began with Thomas Rid’s presentation on Cyber Attacks as Tools of Disinformation, a presentation which revolved around both historical aspects of disinformation and its’ present day connection with cyber attacks.

Afterwards we had lunch and immediately after began discussing our plan for our project. We were divided into 4 groups, Story and Web Editing, consisting of Nikos, Ioanna and Zoi, Audio Production, consisting of Konstantinos and Anna, Video Production consisting of Diego, Magdalini and Ilias and last but not least, the Data Visualization, consisting of Sophocles and Vaios. After that, we had our first production session were everybody got to work in their respective parts of the project.

We had the chance to interview Thomas Miller and David Kaplan, both of which were more than helpful. Then, we partook in Scott Morgan’s unique session, which included the team being divided into groups of two as the interviewer and the interviewee, a session which we unanimously agreed was greatly entertaining and helpful.

Then we agreed to take the metro and head to the Capitol to partake in former president’s George Bush Sr. viewing inside the Capitol Rotunda. Waiting for three hours in the freezing cold made this unique and historical moment a memorable experience for the whole team. Then we took the metro back to the hotel and returned to our rooms to prepare for the next day.
