The Identity of the Laboratory

What we stand for.

The Lab is a center of excellence in its field and within the Greek academic community, focusing on interdisciplinary themes such as: International and European Journalism, Peace Journalism, Crisis Management, Hate speech, disinformation, verification and awareness on the fake news, Media and war, Strategic Communications, Media and News Literacy, Diversity and the Media.

Objective: The Labs’ overall objective is to promote and to spread awareness to young people on the globalized information and communication society by facilitating research activities and by disseminating new research insights within this field.

Aims:

Engage with surveys, researches, and implementations of innovative approaches in journalism.

Provide educational/teaching programs for students

Promote innovative and new ways of reporting

Promote alternatives in fighting disinformation

Support quality journalism

Provide experts’ support and advice on issues of Strategic and Crisis Communication

Provide advanced training on any of its field’s of expertise

Teaching

One of the Lab’s main pillars is the educational promotion of relevant courses as stipulated and suggested by the curriculum of our school (Peace Journalism, Reporting War and Crises, Diversity and the Media, Peace Journalism and Digital Platforms, Crisis Management).

Precisely, in the postgraduate studies program (in English), the following courses are being taught:
1)Peace Journalism, in the field of Risk Communication.
2)Reporting War and Crises, in the field of Risk Communication.
3)Diversity and the Media, in the field of European Journalism.

In the postgraduate studies program (in Greek), the following courses of ”Peace Journalism and Digital Platforms” and “Crisis Management” are being taught.
