You should have a 500-word story with two interviews that contains facts relevant to interested readers

It should NOT be a rough draft. It should be something you’d submit to an editor at a job you want to keep.

No shenanigans!

Here are the instructions to posting to Medium again:

(The first part is from this guide to using Medium if you need more help: https://medium.com/@debgalant/the-no-excuses-guide-to-medium-9735a1e04da8 — the last part of these instructions I made specifically for our class.)

1. Sign in to Medium with your account.

2. Navigate to the front page by clicking on the M or word Medium (top left).

And when on the front page, if you’re logged in, you will find a “Write a story” prompt top right.

Writing a story is pretty simple, type next to the + button to add text. You can copy and past from Word too, which I highly recommend. You can add other elements like photos by hitting enter and clicking on another +.

Then when you go to save, publish on the class page… (See my screen grab to walk you through it)

1. Write a title and at least one word of text in your story.

2. Click on “Add to publication” in the top center of the page.

3. Click on “International Journalism”

4. Click on “Add draft to publication”

This is where the caption goes. You MUST have one for any multimedia element. Make sure you give photo credit too. Photo by Angele Anderfuren

5. Don’t forget to actually publish your story too! You have to hit the green preview/publish button to save it in the system!!! Very important!!
