We discussed the importance of upskilling and creating a niche for yourself in our last article. In today’s ever-changing market, going beyond the course-structure to learn new skills is not only relevant but also a necessity.

E-learning is growing at a rate of 25% YoY and is predicted to be a $1.96 Bn industry in India by 2021. Almost 10 million people will be taking online courses by next year.

In this blog, Team InternClick will be suggesting some unique online learning communities you can check out to equip yourself with the right knowledge.

Skillshare: Skillshare is a subscription-based interactive learning community offering courses on a wide range of subjects: from business, fashion, and style to even food, music, film, gaming, and technology.

LeetCode: LeetCode is particularly useful for providing hands-on training on coding interview questions. There is an “Online Judge” which gives immediate feedback on the correctness and efficiency of your algorithm.

TreeHouse: TreeHouse is another learning platform, committed to the democratization of education. It offers advanced courses on web design, mobile, app and game development. It has partnerships with Microsoft, IBM Watson, Google, and Amazon developers.

Stanford Engineering Everywhere: Stanford Engineering everywhere extends the Stanford learning experience to students around the world, free of cost. There are courses on robotics, machine learning, and programming abstractions.

MIT OpenCourseWare: MIT OpenCourseWare is an education consortium launched way back in 2002. It includes most of the MIT course curriculum for free.

Salesforce Trailhead: Trailhead helps to learn Salesforce skills in a gamified way. You can earn ‘badges’ for every course your complete and showcase them on your public profiles!

You can have a look at the initiatives taken by various universities since then, from Open Yale courses to Open University of Washington(UW) courses, to Harvard Extension School and UC San Diego podcasts.

Apart from these, there are some rather well-known online learning communities as well: Udemy, Khan Academy, Coursera, edX, Code.org and so on.

Happy Learning!
