A Case Study about the Mobile Web

Library on the go: a focus group study of the mobile web and the academic library” is a case study about students who use mobile technology to access the academic library’s mobile Website in the Kent State University, which focused on its students. What I like is that Kent university library’s mobile web homepage was listed as one of the top ten links in iPhone’s library and how had a magnificent work with students. It is interesting thing to see how the mobile web has enabled and enhanced the librarians’ works and the patrons experience in the academic library.

The article found that the participant students at Kent University have used the mobile web by their devices to interact with library resources, do research, find services and contact the website answerable. I genuinely believe in, that the expectations, feedbacks and perceptions of participant students have given significance and accomplishment. In fact, I think it is a great idea to use all technologies that would assist students to receive developed academic life with their libraries.

The library should use whatever communications medium the students are using to interact with them and meet them on their turf. Making the website user friendly is considered one of the good usability study tools that would help users reach their needs faster.Using technologies save lots of efforts and time for both students and librarians, which encourage share knowledge and access information easily and rapidly.
