Baseball and Public Libraries

October 21st, Chicago Cubs fans sat in disbelief as the Cubs season came to an end. It’s been a twelve year drought — to the NLCS, and seven years since a playoff appearance. There’s always the “wait until next year” motto that Cubs fans will have to say, but next year, this team will be back in full force — and I will guarantee in writing that — the Cubs will be back in it again. Anyway, there is still an ALCS to be played. Though, you’d think sports bars and fans would flood social media outlets like Twitter to draw up some hype, and throw a few internet punches. However, it’s fun to see Libraries taking a step in that direction. Yes, I said libraries. Two public libraries in Kansas City and Toronto have gone to twitter, and in a clever way — used books to fire shots at one another. Using the titles on the book bindings — these two libraries have gone back and forth with the Twitter banter. I have pulled the Twitter source page from bleacherreport.com, to which you are all welcome to look at.

Why can’t more libraries do this?

I dig Charles Bronson films, 80s films, movie posters, tattoos, horror and sci-fi films, and I have an undying love for the Chicago Cubs.
