Creating Your First Chart in Google Looker Studio

1. Upload Data

We covered this in the last tutorial:

2. Insert Chart

Add a chart to your page:

Now we have something like this:

3. Add Dimension and Metric

We add the Dimension and Metric (and sort the data by Date & Time):

4. Add Filter

The data contains multiple different types of data (or metrics). We will need to filter out the data we want to work with. Under Sort, you’ll find Filter:

Add a new filter:

5. Success!

Now, we have a graph showing us the total cumulative step count from 2016 to 2024.
