Data analysis holds immense importance for companies in today’s competitive business landscape. First and foremost, it provides companies with the ability to make informed decisions based on evidence rather than intuition or guesswork. By analyzing data related to customer behavior, market trends, and internal operations, companies can identify patterns and correlations that offer valuable insights. This data-driven approach helps in understanding customer preferences, optimizing product offerings, and tailoring marketing strategies, leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty. We at Internshala used Google Sheets and Excel and these are versatile tools for data management and basic analysis, but they have limitations when it comes to handling complex data analysis tasks. One of the significant limitations is the size of data they can handle. This limitation restricts in-depth analysis of extensive datasets, especially in scenarios where businesses need to analyze big data or perform complex statistical computations that involve millions of records.

Another limitation is their lack of advanced analytical capabilities. While both Google Sheets and Excel offer basic functions for statistical analysis, they lack more sophisticated tools for advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning. Performing complex calculations or running algorithms to uncover hidden patterns and insights is challenging within these platforms.

Additionally, these tools don’t provide robust features for data visualization. While they offer basic charting options, these are often limited in terms of customization and interactivity. Creating visually appealing and interactive dashboards, which are essential for conveying complex insights to stakeholders, is challenging in Google Sheets and Excel without significant manual effort.

During my early days, I faced a steep learning curve and found it challenging to adapt. The tool felt overwhelming at first. However, as I continued to explore and remained curious, I began writing queries, crafting dashboards, and setting up alerts. Over time, I have developed three dashboards, generated six automated reports, and formulated numerous insightful questions.
