In 2018- 1,96,032 internships* were posted on Internshala by more than 100k companies we have on the platform. We shared our light moments going when through each of these internships, some of the posts really stood out & made us wonder because the profiles so interesting/unusual.

I am sharing below the top 10 profiles that we thought were really unusual —

Teach My Granny — This internship was posted by an entrepreneur who stays in a different city, away from her granny. She constantly needed to be in touch with her, but the granny wasn’t very tech savvy. Well, her grand daughter is an entrepreneur & knows how to solve a problem. She came up with a cute solution — she hired an intern to teach her grandma how to use an android mobile. See what granny has to share :)

Dog walking — When we posted this on FB, it instantly went viral. The internship profile was a surprise for most of the people. Given the efforts, the stipend was not bad. Could there be a better way to spend summer than do this internship!

Market funeral services — This was another very unusual internship that we received. The intern‘s responsibility was to do marketing & market research of a funeral services company. Think: how difficult would be marketing job in the company :D

If you were a marketing manager in this company, what kind of marketin campaign you would come up with — funny (I think not), emotional or a really dark one?

A post I found on the internet — very creative (and very dark).

A post I found on the internet — creative & dark!

Meme making — Yes, this was an internship offering a stipend Rs 5000/month. Internet is a strange place! I mean who knew people would create career out of trolling others & making memes. It’s for real, and there are well funded startups doing this? Don’t believe me?

Art Sculptor — This was a vintage internship opportunity. There are dreamers who want to become Picasso or Michelangelo. The internship did receive good number of applications — it was offered Rs 8000/month, and was in Hyderabad. Well, masterpiece or not; this internship would have helped craft the intern’s career.

Pet photography— This was another interesting internship perfect for pet lovers (or aspiring photographers). There are opportunities coming up in this field. If you’re a pet-lover and passionate photographer, you can further elevate pet picture to make it a great art form; and pet photography a sought after career option.

Motorcycle coaching — Your passion for bike can actually turn out to become a career option for you.

Jam with musicians — I think this was by far the coolest internship that we got. What more? The internship was in Goa, offering a stipend Rs 10,000/month.

PC — Instructables

Naturalist — Go in nature trails and observe birds, trees, and insects. This was a great opportunity for people who love observing nature.

Food Styling — Well, I know a lot of people who love food; but rarely I have come across any one who loves decorating food. I mean eventually you have to eat it :D

Well, this was my list. Let’s us know if you have come across any job/internship profile that you thought was quite unusual :)
