Admiral Rachel L. Levine serves as the 17th Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the head of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. She fights every day to improve the health and well-being of all Americans. She’s working to help our nation overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and build a stronger foundation for a healthier future — one in which every American can attain their full health potential. ADM Levine’s storied career, first, as a physician in academic medicine, focused on the intersection between mental and physical health, treating children, adolescents, and young adults. Then as Pennsylvania’s Physician General and later as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health, she addressed COVID-19, the opioid crisis, behavioral health, and other public health challenges.
About Dr. Demetre C. Daskalakis
Dr. Demetre Daskalakis is an infectious disease physician who serves as the Deputy Coordinator of the White House National Mpox Response. Prior to his appointment, he served locally and nationally as a leader in public health as the Director for the Division of HIV Prevention at the CDC, Deputy Commissioner for the Division of Disease Control, and Assistant Commissioner for the Bureau of HIV at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Dr. Daskalakis is recognized internationally as an expert in HIV prevention and has focused much of his career on the treatment and prevention of HIV and other STIs as an activist physician with a focus on LGBTQ+ communities. He has also served in leadership roles in several other public health emergencies.
About Natalie Thompson
Natalie serves on InterPride’s Board as a Co-President. She has previously served as Co-Chair for Global Pride 2022 and a member of the IPTF, the ad hoc committee that made recommendations to improve operations and governance in InterPride. Natalie joined the Capital Pride Alliance Board in 2018. She currently serves as the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She is the Chair of the DEI committee, responsible for organizing the #StillWe Lead program, and assists with programming for the Pride Talks series. Professionally, Natalie is the Director of Programs for the SF LGBT Center, addressing the community’s needs to increase access to housing, employment, mental health services, nutritional resources, etc. Through her work and volunteerism, Natalie is dedicated to building community sufficiency, reducing barriers, and celebrating our diversity.
