I’m always chasing magic | Waiting Still Day 5
Day Five | Waiting Still
I’m always chasing magic
An aspiring alchemist
I’ve put all combination of things
in my mortar with pestle
Booze, sex, daily planners
Life organizing apps
The new season of…
The thing that seems to be working for those people
Criticism of what isn’t working for others
Magic, it seems, is elusive
By default, I fill my mortar with more
More something
More whatever
it takes
But now my neck is sore
and my shoulder is tired
All that stressing and grinding
This pestle is heavy
I’ve got to set it down
And then I’m humbled
as I breathe
and the tingle
starts moving up my arm
Rest is where magic resides
•
I’m going to put my mortar and pestle
back in the cupboard
just for a day
I’ll rest
I’ll trust the magic
There will be enough
And in the space I allow for daydreams
I’ll be shown
all the elements needed to form
the Philosophers’ Stone
which I will gather and place
in my mortar
after breakfast on Monday
