Day 35 — “Light” by Jessiclaire

Light

I know those dark places
I’ve run my hands against the grimy walls so many times that I’ve memorized every doorway, every hallway, every room

I know who you were before this crazy mess
You’ve let it all make you more beautiful

You haven’t grown hateful or bitter
You’ve felt every deep pain and let it go
Allowing hollow spaces be so full of love
And empty places brim with wisdom so bright
You light up the darkest night

— Jessiclaire Wolf (Grocery Worker, Hero, Intertwiner)

The moon will be nearly full tonight, and tomorrow is a Super Pink Moon.

I hope you have a chance to breathe deep and admire the beauty and gift that is moonlight and darkness.

More so, I pray that the suffering, confusion, struggle and pain you may be experiencing during this time of disruption — that you would allow them to become your path of transformation.

I pray you would find the courage to feel and let go and make room for the light.

In your homes.
In your relationships with yourself and those close to you.
In your relationships with those who see the world from a different perspective — even your enemies.

May you tap into the deep courage and wisdom that is already present within you.

May anger become understanding and compassion.
May confusion become acceptance and curiosity.
May shame become gentle love.
May despair become a doorway to deeper friendship and joy.

And may you have community to support you from every rising of the moon to its setting.

Peace and breath
