love your tummy | Day Eight | Keep Going Inward

My son
he loves to lift up
his mother’s shirt
and put his head on her tummy
He does it to me too
sometimes
Sweet skin
Electric Magic Love

Where did I pick up
this body scorn?
Where did the worry
and shame come from?

I don’t care if it’s not in
the return policy
Take them back
and if you won’t
I’ll set them outside
your locked doors
and light them on fire

With my head
on his belly
on her belly
We’ll watch them burn
while coyotes howl
and stars bow gently
to the morning
