Welcoming grief & Journal Prompt | Day 22 | Keep Going Inward
Grief,
welcome
Cold rain on my face
Welcome
I feel you
I allow myself to feel you
Welcome
I will stay with you
Give you my time
attention and love
knowing your cold will warm
into a quiet joy
How are you doing?
How are you during this time of collective and amplified grief?
Are you allowing yourself the space to be aware and listen to the grief you carry?
Consider setting aside time to listen to your grief.
Connect with it. Allow it.
Spring can bring a quickening of activity. But spring knows it is from death and loss that it is birthed. Let’s not be fooled by the plastics and pastels. Let’s not move so fast that we forget.
Journal as Spiritual Practice
This weekend, consider sitting with the questions above and writing about them. Here are some suggestions for journaling as a spiritual practice:
*Be intentional about setting aside time to journal. Mark the beginning and ending of your time with a simple ritual (e.g., lighting & blowing out a candle, prayer, mindful breathing, etc.).
*Ask your higher power and your own body and memory for aid in discerning and responding to the questions (Ask and you receive…)
*Let your inner editor take a break. Just write. Welcome it all on the page. Be gentle and grateful. Hold it all loosely.
