What did you come out here to see? — GoT Logion 46

breathe in + breathe out

logion 46
Among those born on earth
beginning from Adam to John the Baptist,
no one has reached a higher state than John — and
you should bow in honor before him.
Yet, I tell you this.
Whoever becomes “a little child”
will not only know the kingdom,
but will be raised to a state
higher than John’s.

Reflection:
Hear the voices crying in the Wilderness
Come to the Water
•
What are you looking for?
What would you go up there to find?
••
We are standing at the threshold
Called here by the Great Teachers
Driven here by pain and discontent
Lured, here, by a vision of what could be
Here
you are presented with a choice
Will you give yourself over to Her
or will you see the treasure
among the rocks on the River’s bed
only to turn away
— Fear and Comfort -
It’s too much work
I don’t know how to begin
I’m ashamed of where I am
of what I’ve been
It’s easy to turn away
with all this distraction
with all the energy Empire puts into you
so that you protect their status quo
But there is no adventure here
No Blessing
No Becoming
•••
Stand in water up to your navel
where, once before, an umbilical cord
channeled nourishment — food and breath -
through amniotic fluid
Stare down
through the surface
There
is a Jewel
Choose Surrender
Give yourself to the Water
Sink
and be Touched
Ruby, Peridot, Opal
Agate Kiss
Now
Turn
Breech
and Rise
Infants
dripping
under the Sun
••••
What did you come out here to see?
We are not reeds shaken by the Wind
We are Children of the holy One
And all of Earth knows
We Are
taking our first steps
through the Door
•••
Friends, nothing is impossible for us
Not even healing
••
Gem in hand
these supple bodies can thread
the eye of the needle
•
Locusts and honey
John fasted
But, Little One
We are called to a feast
Put on your Infant Eyes
and see Everything new
John called us away from
“imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist, patriarchy”
but Yeshua and today’s Great Teachers
— the call us to something
Remember your part in a Greater Story
Prune what is diseased or no longer necessary
Then Create anew, shape culture, tend the Garden
