#getintimate with intimate.io + Cloudstaff
By Alfred, Software QA Engineer
On 25 October 2018, intimate.io held a special team dinner to celebrate a key milestone: One year since we kicked off the #getintimate world tour!
intimate.io began its journey in late 2017 with only one Cloudstaffer, Chrisnel, who was recently promoted to Product Lead.
We are now a team of six in Angeles City, Philippines — including the newest members of our family: Senior Software Developer, Bret, and Junior Developer, Justin.
intimate.io co-founders, Reuben Coppa and Nathan Smale, have a combined fifteen years history working with Cloudstaff, having outsourced digital talent and customer support for previous ventures.
Originally established in 2005 by Australian Internet pioneer Mr Lloyd Ernst, Cloudstaff is an outsourcing company in the Philippines providing skilled workforces to a range of industry verticals.
Today, Cloudstaff employs over 1500 staff and contractors across six different locations and is growing at an average rate of 7.5% per month.
Our CEO, Reuben Coppa, kicked-off the evening with a presentation to share our high level priorities on the company roadmap over the next few years. He gave special thanks to the team for their hard work, passion and dedication to the company.
With the formalities done, Reuben said we could look forward to some fun activities that the team would surely enjoy.
As the night went on, everyone enjoyed the unlimited booze and snacks prepared by the Cloudstaff Angels, massage therapy and games of pool.
The fun continued with a sumptuous dinner prepared by the in-house chef. The team, together with Cloudstaff executives, Wayne Bucklar, Kyle Merritt and John Patrick ‘Japs’ Bartolome, were served a three-course meal with handmade pasta for entree; Aussie-style chicken with parmesan cheese for main course; and ice cream cake with a fruit platter for dessert.
The laughter and the joy was so unforgettable as everyone shared their comical office stories to everyone.
But just as we were just about to finish dinner, our team had a surprise for everyone… BALUT!!! For those of you who do not know, balut is a street food in the Philippines. It is a developing bird embryo (usually a duck) that is boiled and eaten from the shell.
People were skeptical at first, but — almost — everyone managed to eat their balut, even if they looked like they were about to throw up (LOL) and the rest was history. Indeed, it was a fun fun-filled night. Thanks from all of us to Cloudstaff and the intimate.io Executive Team.
As intimate.io continues to grow, we are excited to play such an important role in building technology that is changing the world for the better — and — to be part of a company that is helping people realise their full potential.
Our Chief Impact Officer, Leah Callon-Butler, inspired us when she said:
Let’s work together to create technologies that advance the world and give people a chance at living their best lives.
