Why Intrachain is going to the moon Part III
One of the most important factors of any company is a strong team that has the ability to work with different skills and to optimally use its differences. Intrachain indeed has the right people steering the ship.
During the last weeks you have got a deep insight into the life of our CEO Arne Reimann and his thoughts and vision on Intrachain and various topics. Now we have started an interview series to give you insights into the different backgrounds, perspectives and visions for Intrachain of our team and advisor. Last week we interviewed Niclas Preisner, Intrachain’s CMO.
This time, we would like to give you some insights into Leonid Astakhov, Intrachains Core Blockchain Developer. With over 20 years of experience, Leonid is a software development veteran. Graduating with a master’s degree in information technology, he paved the foundation for his further career: A key role as a software architect included working for Kaspersky Lab and in the area of platform integration/ application services working for Deutsche Bank. He is a high performance and high availability computing specialist — especially in the field of HPC Clustering Solutions, a Big Data analytic, a Smart Contracts professional and a cryptography and blockchain expert.
Please tell us a little bit about your background.
I work in the IT industry since 1998. My very first experience in this field is related to cryptography. There were no talks about cryptocurrencies yet. I used cryptography to secure networks. Developed transparent security ecosystem for peer-to-peer networks. That was exciting times. I studied in university at that time and that challenge became by diploma work.
In 2001 I switched to another fast growing interesting stream in IT — biometric. At that time we were very optimistic about biometric solutions coming to replace any other authentication methods. We developed a lot of things from scratch. Things that nobody did before us and we were very enthusiastic in our R&D department. We had to invent a lot of things which any Big Data engineer has nowadays as basic knowledge. But during that time there was no Hadoop and MapReduce which are kind of standard things now if you want to have parallel processing of big amount data. We had to invent our own algorithms for parallel processing. It was a very exciting time. We had parallel performance near 98% of theoretically possible.
I took my experience in parallel processing to the banking industry. Our work focused on high performance parallel financial calculations.
Now days I am a micro-service architecture adherent. A lot of complex tasks become simpler when properly divided into smaller ones and correctly mapped to micro services. Great things to do with data streaming and transformations as opposed to old fashioned ETL paradigm.
For how long have you been working with Intrachain?
I work with Intrachain since early 2018. I joined the great team of professionals to create a really breaking new solution in the blockchain world. Together we were able to develop and realize a joint vision of Intrachain and its products.
What drives you to work for Intrachain? Why do you think Intrachain is such a revolutionary project?
All my IT experience is based on doing something new. Intrachain is not out of this line. We created something new. I am happy to participate in revolutionary projects where I can apply all my previous experience and gain a lot of new experience as well. Intrachain is first on the market and that is why it’s so special. We need to deliver an exceptional qualitative product for our customers to not disappoint them. And that is exactly what we are currently doing.
What are your thoughts on Intrachain in the future?
Intrachain has a great future. It takes old fashioned reconciliation processes to a new level of automation and security. That is why Intrachain will be extremely demanded on this market.
