Don’t kill the messenger

When they’ve given you some news
About the mass that’s been fused
To your lady bits
On the inside
And you feel yourself confused
Because you weren’t supposed to use those
Obsolete little bits
Not at your age
And you remember what they said
Bout great grandma in her bed
Slowly dying
Quietly crying
Surely she knew why
Why don’t I know why
And you get your head together
And you try not to conflate
What is your new reality
With what was her fate
They’re not the same
It’s not the same
No one’s to blame
Remember to be considerate
to the bearer of the real news
And don’t kill the messenger…
