It is 9:15 pm, last dog walk of the day. Earlier than the normal 9:30, but this day has been too long, and I am anxious for it to end.

Sophie stops to pee and I cry. Syau smells the pee of another dog and I cry. Then, Syau pees over the other dog’s pee, and I cry. Pee and tears seem cosmically joined tonight.

Thirty minutes earlier, I walked through what used to be my grandchildren’s bedroom when they stayed…
