Every morning, we go down the same elevator
exchanging meaningful eye contacts
our eyes speaking in a coded language
words written in braille
something i don’t seem to understand
but easily feel

i’m tempted to act on these feelings
feelings i shouldn’t be having
if only my heart could comprehend that i shouldn’t be wishing upon a man with another.
