Mismatched pieces

Here we go again.

One half-step forward,
two giant steps behind.
How odd, my guilt
in disappointing You,
when My body’s the one that’s declined.

My puzzle pieces just won’t fit,
no matter how you flip them around.
You stare at your screen, the cover of my box,
searching for patterns unfound.

But, a cosmic child has been at play,
forgetting to put away his toys,
so now my pieces are all mismatched
and the full story is lost in the noise.
