New Dawn can be Any Time

New dawn can be any time:
Simply as a prayer written in paper,
in the shape of a rhyme.
To set a new course for my existence,
where time and space collide.
Even when I cannot control
the relentlessness of time
or the space I am in now.

New dawn can be a shower.
To walk, when there is no strength to run;
Write a line,
unpretentious,
Or maybe not?
To forgive myself:
I’m probably not as bad
as I think I am.
Open the curtains, go outside.
After dusk, let it be light.

Thank you Terijo and Dermott Hayes for the New Dawn prompt. Thanks, LB for your poetry and the light you shed in Within View, some of which dripped through into my soul.

Thank you for reading.
