I can’t sing you peaceful lullabies
the sleep will end
when the realities kick in
the scenes you don’t want to live in

I can’t write you golden wisdom
you will believe
then disbelieve
the truth always shines brighter,
no matter how harsh it may be

I can’t whisper sweet nothing
when it means nothing
it’ll fade into the sound of screams
your screams in the middle of your nightmare

but I can tell you one thing,
when you feel there’s no more you can do
there is no more you can do,
when you’re sinking into rage and blaze
dive deep into it and find resilience,

you may not believe
that it’ll get better,
you’re not forced to believe

you only have to keep walking brave
solely holding on to your strength.
