Collecting Dust
Like rain their pitter patter
One smart and the other smarter.
Cycling in circles around me,
chasing shouting in joyous glee.
Waiting patient naughtiness,
for the other to finish work books.
Rolling like puppies blocking the door
to play some more.
Dunking each other in water
creating for all a lot of splatter.
Wanting to extend sleep time more,
listening adding stories galore
Early and silent wake up on holidays,
watching TV silently keeping me at bay.
Boxing fighting skimming pebbles
eyeing the same cute girl
across the table.
That’s how they grow,
but now they have fun no more.
Fun now is restricted in albums,
collecting and dust forgotten.
