Stillness, an Acrostic Poem
Inspired by Chalkboard’s prompt “Silence”
S-ilence at last. Breathing air.
T-aking in oxygen going
I-nward, seeing
L-ove &
L-eaning in. Gratitude for
N-ativity. Reset. New
E-nvironment in the
S-ame casa, feels fresh in
S-tillness in surround presence.
Authors note: Nativity is one of many words born of the Latin verb nasci, which means “to be born.” The gestation of the word was a long one. “Nasci” developed in Latin into nativitas, meaning “birth,” which passed through Middle French as nativité before entering English in the 14th century.
