a poem about lust

They told me not to play games
but oh god how I play
latching
clinging, hopelessly
I’ll slip like the mermaid you sing for
and look away
without a care
when you crash upon the rocks
So much to the theme
for destroying men
but GOD WHY IS SHE DESTROYING THEM
ask why
ask me why

I’ll show you a picture
of every lover I’ve ever taken
