Primary sources

I see primary sources as almost like a double edged sword. On one hand it does’t get any better having a first hand account of whatever the subject is. However it’s just as important to remember that primary sources are always gonna be prone to bias and vested interests. You always have to keep in mind when reading primary sources “Who wrote this? Why did they write this” and also how they may have inherent biases intentional or not. Also while primary sources are so great because of all the information they tell us, they are only one side of the story and are most likely leaving out all other points of view of a certain time or event potentially giving us a very skewed perspective.
