Reflection

One of my greatest takeaways from this class was an idea of what critical reading is to a historian and the importance of historiography. I learned about utilizing digital tools like Hypothes.is for note-taking and how to evaluate (and identify) primary and secondary sources. I also learned about the different ideas historians hold about objectivity and truth in history, and about how to access databases and archives to search for primary sources. However, I wish we had spent more time (maybe an example query) on searching the archives for documents related to specific events or people.
