There are two analytical readings that I recognize as crucial for reading historical work.

The first one is evidence. Evidence stands out to me because when looking into historical readings, you would need multiple sources to support your answer. Evidence is crucial for reading historical reading so you can make sure the evidence is correct.

The second one is topic sentences. This stands out to me because it starts up any historical work and is made to stand out such as the Declaration of Independence. This is crucial for historical readings because the topic sentence sticks with you throughout the reading.

With the 5Cs, these analytical readings support context. You must use both evidence and topic sentences to set up the context in which you are reading about.

Analytical reading is important to historical reading because it breaks down what your reading piece by piece until its finally understood.
