I Feel Closer to Men After They Yell at Me

I remember the first time I noticed it. I was fifteen and at an acting camp. Our counselor was young — early to mid-twenties — and generally, we all thought he was cool. Because of this, everyone was kind of pushing it that day— talking too much, being pains in the butt. I just happened to be the one unlucky enough to be keyed in on when he was at his breaking point, and so I was the one who he yelled at.
