Comparing Jokic to NBA greats

The Denver Stiffs wrote a birthday feature for Nikola Jokic. The organization is part of SB Nation and acts as a content provider for Denver Nuggets fans. The writer is Mike Olson, who joined SB Nation in 2013.
Olson did a great job of making the story interesting with early ties to his personal life, movie references, videos, and discussing historical players in the Nuggets’ franchise. The gist of the story is the two tools that Nikola Jokic either needs to apply to his game or already utilizes well. Olson compares him to former players in order to do so.
I think Olson did well comparing Jokic to great Nuggets in the past. It brought back players many NBA faithful fans may have forgotten about over the years. For Nuggets fans, older generations will enjoy the references to their all-time favorite Nuggets like James Posey.
It was a little difficult to follow the point and reasoning of the story. Olson didn’t provide but two examples and it never seemed to relate to Jokic and his birthday. The occasion of the story was forced and really didn’t need to be there. His story could have stood alone without relaying it to Jokic’s birthday.
Either way, Olson created a unique feature piece on Jokic, the Nuggets up and coming star. In just three short years, Jokic has surpassed the expectations previously expected of him. The young center is putting up a multitude of triple-doubles, and is playing a crucial role on the Denver Nuggets roster. He is attracting more attention around the league the better and better he gets.
