This feature piece titled “Paul George is the Key to Oklahoma City’s Playoff Hopes” by SB Nation writer Paul Flannery, focuses on the impact George has on the Thunder. Flannery believes the reason is George doing all the little things right. George is referred to as the perfect ‘complementary’ player which initially seems like an insult. In reality he meshes well perfectly with other superstars and remains a star according to the author.

The author talks about how well George and Russell Westbrook mesh together as a duo. I do not agree with this because Russell Westbrook does not mesh well with any star and the Thunder has. In my opinion, George struggled overall with consistency this season. George has the ability to mesh with another star which is a skill that is underrated according to the author. He talks about how George was the star or the “the man” in Indiana, but he could not win alone. I completely agree with the sentiment that the NBA is too good of an league to win alone and you need more than just one star player.

The author talks about how George is a phenomenal postseason player who went toe to toe with Lebron. The author fails to mention that was many years ago and, he hasn’t gotten a team to the conference finals since that time. The author acknowledges that George doesn’t have to carry OKC in the playoffs, which is true.

Overall, from the article I learned about the importance of Paul George and his value as a player on the Thunder. The Thunder will only go as far as Paul George plays in the playoffs.
