Beyond Saints & Psychics: Why Enlightenment is for Everyone
Enlightenment is not a goal to be attained — it’s a state of being to be regained.
Most of us don’t even entertain the thought that Enlightenment is possible for ‘regular people.’ Tell someone that you are spiritually enlightened sometime, and see how that goes. Unless you are the Dalai Lama, or Eckhart Tolle, it is most likely not going to fly.
Even if it is true. You very well might be spiritually enlightened. And I am sure you would know it if you are. As far as I know, there is no universal law that dictates a set of prerequisites for becoming enlightened.
That’s my mantra (and, serendipitously, it rhymes). The only reason why enlightenment can’t be a personal goal, is because something that you already have can’t be a goal. The question is not: “What do I need to do to aquire Enlightenment?” The question is: “How deep have I buried it?”
Enlightenment is already inside us. Its our natural state. It’s the way God made us. That is, before all that ‘knowledge’ got in the way.
And you must know what I am going to say next. How do you pull enlightenment — our inner peace, joy, contentment, love and beauty — out of the dark recesses of your latent Being? How do you sow the seeds of enlightenment in your spirit? It’s a simple answer (as all good answers are): You follow your Intuition.
Each intuitive impression, each insight, creative urge or rapturous feeling is a tiny seed of enlightenment reaching out to take hold of you. You can take it, embrace it, grow it. Or you can let it wither away. One way, you choose life — to be alive; one way you choose non-life — to just exist.
So, don’t be lame. Be brave. Follow your Intuition — its the biggest adventure out there.
