It is time to have a mental and physical “Garage Sale”. We all have drawers, boxes, attics and garages full of good stuff, personal treasures, and worthless junk. When it comes to your physical possessions, a good liquidation of what has value and what doesn’t is a healthy endeavor and can benefit your bottom line, but getting rid of you emotional baggage can have a very powerful impact on your waistline as well.

Remove the barriers and the clutter that are keeping you from being more productive. Develop a more efficient and organized plan in your life and for your stuff. But you have amazing things possibly worth a fortune? They are not making money in your garage, but what about all my treasured memories? Again, they are not serving you being hidden and stacked in a corner with the New Year’s resolution health gear. Purge you possessions, take a mental accounting of what you do have so you can use it. A reboot helps your laptop, so try that technique your personal life. You will discover art, pictures, memories, tools, and maybe clothes that are in style again. Apply these rules to your stuff and to your soul.

1. What do you have it for? IT STAYS OR GOES!

2. If it stays, FIND A GOOD PLACE FOR IT!

3. If you can use it, USE IT!

4. If it is trash, PITCH IT!

5. If it is dangerous, DISPOSE OF IT PROPERLY!

6. Can it be recycled, RECYCLE IT!

7. Can it be repurposed, REPURPOSE IT!

8. Is it worth something, SELL IT!

9. Does it have use but not to you, DONATE IT!

10. If you love it, CHERISH IT!
