A Mother’s Desperate Distance
When picturing life-altering shock, I imagine something like Judy Ambrose-Walsh experienced while she was vacationing in Mexico, far away from a cold Canadian winter, seems apropos. As Judy picked up a paper and saw her name listed, she likely did not expect a posting from Canadian authorities seeking her whereabouts, which by itself would startle a person, but when she learned it was to question her about her daughter, Regan, I imagine her mind raced as she felt truly powerless in being so far away from her daughter, and her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
