The Power of Private equity in Africa

javahouseAfrica that started in Kenya in 1999 received investment from #EmergingCapitalPartners in 2012 .

Industry: Consumer Goods

Location: #Kenya ,#Uganda and recently opened at #KigaliHeights in #Rwanda.

#JavaHouse (formerly known as Nairobi Java House) launched operations in 1999 and For East Africa’s consumer class, Java House represents a high-quality, affordable restaurant destination with exceptional African-grown coffee and a full menu of international cuisine. By day, it is frequented by business professionals; by night and during the weekends, friends and family gather to socialize and dine in the unique family-friendly ambiance.

In addition to the casual dining restaurant brand, the company has also launched Planet Yogurt, the first self-serve frozen yogurt brand in Africa, and, more recently, a Nairobi-based pizzeria called 360 Degrees. #investinginafrica #javalove #privateequity

It is clear to see the impact that the cash injection and expertise brought onboard by ECP and I look forward to see what multiple this investment will yield when they exit this business as the average holding period of a PE investment is around 5 years.
