Coinbase lists XRP
One of the biggest US crypto exchanges Coinbase Pro has started listing the digital currency XRP.
It was noted in the company’s blog that firstly, XRP trade will be available for Coinbase Pro users from the United States (excluding the state of New York), EU countries, Canada, Singapore and Australia. Then, the geography of supported countries will expand.
These news has already led to the increase of Ripple value and probably the coin will continue rising up.
Platform Square sold Bitcoins worth of $ 166 million in 2018
The Square payment platform, founded by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, sold bitcoins worth of $ 166 million in 2018. It was mentioned in the company’s financial reports.
In the first half of the year, users spent up to $ 71 million on the purchase of BTC, and in the second half of the year, $ 95 million was allocated for this purpose. So by the end of 2018, bitcoins for more than $ 166 million were purchased via the Square platform.
Facebook plans to launch its own cryptocurrency
“Facebook is planning to implement its own cryptocurrency, which will be available for users of the company messenger WhatsApp to fulfil instant transactions”, — writes The New York Times.
There is still no information about the name of the coin: Facebook Coin, FB Coin or FaceBucks?
According to the news, representatives of Facebook company told that they plan to launch their product in the first half of this year.
From Petersburg to Constantinople. Ethereum Hardfork
In the network with one of the largest capitalization — Ethereum, hardfork, called Constantinople, has passed. It took place on the block 7 280 000 on February 28.
Also together with Constantinople the hardfork Petersburg was activated. Its main task is to disable the EIP-1283 protocol, which is known for the problems with vulnerabilities such as Reentrancy.
Tron Hardfork on 28, Feb
The founder of blockchain giant Tron, Justin Sun, has announced about a hard fork. It has happened on February 28 and updated the cryptocurrency protocol to version Odessey 3.5. The hard fork was successful. Sophisticated features were added to Tron’s major blockchain upgrade.
Speaking about the upgrade, Justin stated:
“This MainNet upgrade is a significant one for TRON since last December. Previous upgrades were mainly for setting up the network, while this upgrade is the first major improvement of the network performance.”
