In which we joyfully explore the journey of our competitive series, Cut To The Chase, and tell you all about our latest episode.

At InVideo, you can make videos easily, and within just 15 minutes! No, we’re not joking. And with our competitive series ‘Cut To The Chase’, we happily prove our point, time and again!

Don’t believe us? Well, we’ve got proof for you. With our series Cut To The Chase, we don’t just have our own team members but also folks from our Facebook community taking up the challenge!

In the latest episode of Cut To The Chase With InVideo (CTTC), we decided to pit influential designers, Aaron Pinto and Aaquib Wani against each other. Like every episode of CTTC, we expected this one to be entertaining and informative but we didn’t anticipate just how awesome it would be.

Episode 12 of Cut To The Chase was less of a competition and more of three designers, sitting around, albeit in a virtual room and chilling. They discussed everything from their own older gigs, their designs, overcoming creative blocks, and a lot more. They shared insights on the future of design as well!

The two designers as different as chalk and cheese, bonded with each other as easily as cookies go with coffee. The cherry on top of this perfect little mix was the host of the episode, our very own Vinu Joseph.

Have we intrigued you enough about the episode yet? Well, if we still haven’t caught your attention, then let us give you a quick run-through of what Cut To The Chase is, before diving right into the episode.

We’ll just cut to the chase

Cut To The Chase was an idea that the social media team had in early November 2020 during a rather random brainstorming session.

The idea was fairly simple — we have two participants — designers, influencers, or two InVideo team members, who have 15 minutes to make a short video using InVideo. That’s it. There are no other rules.

The ‘competitors’ can go wild with their ideas on the theme given to them. While the episodes are enjoyable on their own, it’s also the whole process of recording these sessions that threw us into laughter fits, and boy, we’ve had a lot of fun with these.

When we say you can make awesome videos in less than 15 minutes, we mean it and Cut To The Chase is proof of that fact.

The journey of CTTC so far

At its outset, CTTC was the team member competing against each other, while the host played judge and moderator. The winner of that round would host, judge, and moderate the next session and so it went.

This was the way the episodes went on until we decided to invite people from the community to be a part of the episodes. That’s when we decided that an impartial judge in such a situation would be you (the audience). And thus, all episodes since were hosted by Payal Chatterjee, our Social Media Manager.

Inviting people from the Facebook community turned out to be a great idea since they were all fans of the product and were so happy to share their video creation ideas with us.

The very first episode went live on YouTube and Instagram on 19th November 2020 and since then, there have been 12 episodes of laughter, knowledge, learning, and a lot more.

For the first episode, we had our Communications Lead, Diksha against our Social Media Lead, Vinu. What followed was a lot of bantering and two awesome videos. (Psst! You can check out the episode right here)

If you think this video is awesome, you have to watch the episode between our Founder & CEO, Sanket Shah against our Co-Founder Harsh Vakharia. This episode was all things great!

In under 15 minutes, our founders showed us that they can have a ton of fun while making brilliant videos. This is surely one episode we’d recommend you watch to truly understand why we say we’ve got the coolest founders ever.

During the episode, we asked Sanket and Harsh their thoughts on work-life balance and what that means to them. Their answers, honestly, did not disappoint.

We became popular and how!

Soon we realized that CTTC was gaining popularity and that it needed to be shared with more people across platforms. That’s when we decided to take things to the next level, and invited members of our dear Facebook community to join us.

They were more than happy to do it. And these episodes featuring the community members added a whole new dimension to just how versatile it is to make videos on InVideo. The contestants got along like a house on fire!

Very soon, these episodes too started becoming increasingly popular with our audience. And that’s when we decided to knock it out of the park.

Meet Aaquib and Aaron!

That’s when Aaquib and Aaron came into the picture. Two designers with a background in music were our first influencers of CTTC. Recording this episode was great, to say the least, as the two men discussed the design industry, and made video posters that urged people to go get vaccinated.

At the end of it, we had two starkly opposite posters each telling you why you needed to go get vaccinated. In some ways, the two posters showed the two designers’ personalities too.

While Aaquib’s poster was light and had confetti at the end, Aaron’s poster was quite serious and told you why getting vaccinated was a good idea for you.

But before getting into the details of this episode, here’s all that you need to know about our two participants. Both these men are incredibly talented designers who are incredibly fond of music and design. But that’s probably where their similarities end.

Aaquib is an experiential designer who designs spaces and events, Aaron is a visual artist who designs posters, album covers, and the like. You can check out both their work on their Instagram feeds right here.

Now let’s jump right into what went down on a fine Saturday, shall we?

3 designers, 1 virtual room, and a lot of fun!

What happens when you put three brilliant artists in one (virtual) room? Well, they make art, talk design, and have a ton of fun! That is precisely what happened during this episode.

We began by giving the two competitors a basic rundown of the tool and what they needed to do. Once they had the topic (given to them on the spot) they got to work on making the best posters in 15 minutes.

They delivered, and how!

With kickass introductions out of the way, Vinu and the boys did a deep dive into designer talk and chatted away about a myriad of topics. Their repartee set the tone for the episode, and so wonderfully at that.

When asked about their opinions on the NFTs, the two men had some interesting things to say. Aaquib told us that since he almost only deals with designing spaces and the like, the NFTs aren’t something he’s explored completely.

Meanwhile, Aaron has sent out some feelers to see how that would bode for him. Both the artists agreed that the artists gaining popularity and millions of dollars through NFTs are those who have been consistent with their art and are being rewarded for the same.

“Be consistent and smash that creative block”

Speaking of artists and their consistency in their art, the two men had some really interesting points to put out. They both believe that being consistent with their art is something all the artists need to do, especially if the artist is facing a creator’s block. However, their own ways of dealing with the block were vastly different.

The way Aaron deals with a block is by almost forcing himself to get to work and draw something, anything, that helps him get out of the rut. However, this wasn’t really his way of dealing with a block earlier. He would, initially, do what most of us did — keep putting it off till the last minute when he absolutely HAD to do the work.

Meanwhile, Aaquib’s way of dealing with a block is relatable. He starts doing everything BUT the work. He will clean his room, he will do everything except his work until the moment inspiration strikes!

Go go go! Check it out.
