Be Weeds

Now is the time for resilience

weed (n): a wild plant growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants.

A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival skill except for learning how to grow in rows. ~Doug Larson

Weeds are resilient; so are you. Weeds are survivors; so are you. Weeds are strong; so are you.

They will spray poison on you, but it will not work.

Resilience

They will tell you you are not welcome in their yard, but you will stay.

They will tell you you are worthless, but you are valuable.

They will tell you you don’t “look right,” but you are beautiful.

They will tell you you don’t contribute, but you will feed the hungry and heal the sick in body and spirit.

Remember: Weeds are not “part of the plan.” Weeds are not cooperative. Weeds disperse and multiply.

And when all is said and done, when the land has been desecrated, the water has been used up, the weeds? We Withstand.
