Bombing Butterflies

I’ve never seen a more egregious justification for dropping munitions on butterflies than this propaganda hack-piece from NPR:

From “Sentinel Landscapes” to “biodiversity on military bases,” the conversation regarding climate change sure is becoming militaristic of late:

Let’s be perfectly clear: warfare and the means by which it is waged, from “boots on the ground” to the infrastructure of human and mechanical resources necessary for its conduct, are not compatible with the idea of ‘participatory ecology.’

Or, to put it more succinctly, war is bad for the environment.
